Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS)

BaaS is a service model offered by data centers and service providers to their clients. Under BaaS, the client receives a turnkey cloud backup service. Unlike the organization of a classic backup scheme with the deployment of local storage, BaaS does not require the client to manage the hardware and perform its maintenance himself. The service provider is fully responsible for maintaining the service’s stable performance.

BaaS is widely used by companies for which a high level of system availability is important. The service is in demand in the banking and insurance industries, and is actively used in the finance industry and industrial systems.

Within BaaS, backups are available for all the most popular operating systems: Windows, Linux, Mac OS, as well as virtualization platforms KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V, Oracle VM and others. The service supports backup creation for both local physical and virtual machines, and provides cross-platform migration.
