Bitbucket is an online service for collaborative development. It is the main competitor of Github. The main difference between them is the focus on small groups of developers: for teams of up to 5 people, the service provides a private repository for free. For more developers, the cost of access is calculated on an individual basis.
Bitbucket features:
- The maximum storage capacity for one repository is 2 GB.
- Access to the service resources is provided via HTTPS and SSH protocols.
- Integration with popular services such as Google Analytics, Twitter, Jira etc.
- Backups are stored in cloud storage. Developers can independently customize the backup scheme.
- Each repository has a bug tracker and reference resource.
Bitbucket’s audience is not as large as Github’s, but the service is constantly evolving. For small teams of developers, the created conditions are economically favorable.
