PPPoE

PPPoE is an acronym that stands for “Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet”. The operation of this protocol is usually defined as creating a tunnel in a virtual network to connect a pair of points. One point is the service provider’s server, and the second point is the user’s personal computer or mobile device connected to the Internet.

The connection is established using network devices equipped with an Ethernet port: routers, repeaters, modems, etc. To access the Internet using the PPPoE protocol, the user must authenticate with a login and password issued by the provider.
