“Security-as-a-service” is a service offered by a service provider. Most often it is offered as the turnkey software to ensure information security of the client’s infrastructure. It is hosted in the provider’s cloud and can be provided according to 3 possible models.
- Free of charge. Some basic features of the service may be provided for free, such as cloud antivirus, but full or advanced functionality is usually provided for a fee.
- Subscription-based. The client selects specific options and pays for the service at intervals specified in the agreement.
- Post-use. The client orders the service for security testing and pays for the service after the testing is complete.

The software solution is integrated into the client’s infrastructure. The service provider gives the client access to all monitoring and administration tools. The software contains a database with a list of all possible threats and viruses that collects data from all connections. The system is updated online and provides continuous protection.
